Director's Welcome

Amy Love brings nearly three decades of teaching experience — from K-12 classrooms to the university stage — to her role as Director of Little Friends Preschool. Before stepping into early childhood leadership, Amy spent years as a theatre and ELA director and teacher, a teaching artist, and holds an MFA in Acting from the University of Florida. That background shapes everything about how Little Friends approaches learning: with creativity, warmth, and a deep belief that young children learn best through play, art, and connection.

Amy is currently completing her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership, with dissertation research focused on how arts-integrated learning supports executive function development in early childhood. Little Friends serves as one of her research sites — meaning the ideas she studies don't stay in a binder, they show up in the classroom. She's also the co-founder of Little Strings of North Florida, bringing violin and cello instruction into early childhood settings across Jacksonville.

For Amy, Little Friends isn't just a preschool — it's a place where research, the arts, and genuine care for children come together every day.
