Lucas Kaufman

1's Lead Teacher

Lucas Kaufman has been with Little Friends since 2021, joining as an assistant, and now teaches one of the one-year-old classes.

He recently married Claire Kaufman, who works at the Jacksonville Zoo. They enjoy climbing, running, and reading together. Having graduated from the University of North Florida with degrees in psychology and anthropology, Lucas is now pursuing Biblical Counseling certification. Lucas sees childcare and teaching as a ministry, and in his time at Little Friends, he has learned the role compassion plays in discipleship and pointing others to Christ. He is enjoying this season of growth and is enthusiastic about fostering empathy in young hearts like those in his class.

There are many things we really like about Little Friends, but let me tell you what we LOVE - We love the teachers! The teachers go above and beyond to teach, care for, and nurture my children while at school. They are quick to respond to messages, have always checked in on my kids if they miss a day, and are genuinely happy to see them in the mornings when we arrive. The heart of Little Friends is in their teachers. I am grateful for them every day and I cannot imagine sending my children anywhere else.
